RJ Hawkey students are involved in a number of initiatives to serve our community and are asking for your support!

G.E.A.R. Food Drive –Gathering Edibles for Airdrie Residents

Our school is once again participating in the G.E.A.R. food drive to help those in need in our community! This is a wonderful opportunity for us to give back and support local families. We’re also adding a fun twist this year with a friendly competition between classes! The class that donates the most items will enjoy a movie and popcorn party as a reward. The food drive will run until January 31st. Have your student bring donations to their class. Remember, the class with the most donations will win a movie and popcorn party!

Most Needed Items:

  • Staples: Beans & legumes, rice, dry pasta, canned meat (tuna, chicken, ham), soup (dried large packages & single-serve cups)

Used Toy and Book Sale

Classes 1/2W, 2A, 2/3B and 2S are hosting a used toy/book sale January 28th - 30th during lunch in the grade 2 hallway.

All items will be minimally priced ($0.50, $1 and $2) and proceeds will be donated to the Airdrie Food Bank.

If you think that your child might be interested in purchasing a book or toy to help support the Airdrie Food bank, please send them with some money on those days.

This initiative was organized by students as a way to help out our community.

Land Acknowledgment

Rocky View Schools would like to acknowledge the land and recognize all the Indigenous Peoples whose footprints have marked these lands from time immemorial. Together, we can learn and honour the Ways of Knowing of Indigenous Peoples for all future generations.
