The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, originally and still colloquially known as Orange Shirt Day, is a Canadian day of memorial to recognize the atrocities and multi-generational effects of the Canadian Indian residential school system. It occurs every year on September 30. Orange Shirt Day was created as an opportunity to discuss the effects of residential schools and their legacy.

This day honours the experiences of Indigenous Peoples, celebrates resilience and affirms a commitment that Every Child Matters (University of British Columbia).
