Message from Administration

Well, it is hard to believe we are heading into our final couple of weeks before our Christmas Holiday. This upcoming week is a busy one with our upcoming performances, and both a school spirit day (Wear Red/Green)and a Healthy Hunger Lunch on Friday. Our music teacher, Mrs. Worden, has been working hard with the students and we are looking forward to seeing you at the concerts this week.

Be sure to read all the details in the information that was sent home with your child.

Warmly,

Mrs. Lisa Guy - Assistant Principal

Mrs. Jackie Root - Principal

Staffing Update

With mixed emotions, we are informing you that Ms. Secreti is retiring from teaching. Ms. Secreti has been a teacher at RJ Hawkey for the last 22 years, and we are incredibly thankful for her hard work and contributions to the RJ Hawkey community.

Ms. Secreti's last day will be Thursday, December 22. We have already interviewed for a new teacher for the class and hope to be able to share information about the new teacher before the last day of classes.

As part of our school-wide numeracy plan, we will have a second teacher join the 3M class and together, they will team teach 3M. Currently, our plan will have this second teacher teach the class in the afternoons and Friday mornings. Ms. Mackenzie will support teachers and students with instructional coaching and numeracy interventions when she is not teaching 3M.
